This policy explains what information Asset Analysis collects, how it is used, and your rights with respect to that information. By using the service you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account we collect your first name, last name, email address, and a hashed (never plain-text) version of your password.

Payment Information

Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full credit card number. Stripe provides us with a customer ID and subscription status only. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

Usage Data

We log standard web-server information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used solely for security, debugging, and improving the service.

User Preferences

Settings such as your news sources, watchlist, and dashboard preferences are stored in your browser's local storage and, where applicable, in your account record in our database.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers hosted with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States. We use industry-standard practices including encrypted passwords, HTTPS transport encryption, and restricted database access.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Cookies and Sessions

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie is essential to the operation of the service and is deleted when you log out or when your session expires. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

5. Third-Party Services

The service fetches publicly available financial data from Yahoo Finance and news content from RSS feeds and public social-media proxies. We do not share your personal information with these providers.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us (see Section 9).

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Object to or restrict certain processing
Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)

8. Children's Privacy

The service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
